Meet Sietske

I began my journey in massage therapy at Downeast School of Massage in Waldoboro, Maine in the Fall of 2017. Massage therapy has always been a natural choice for me, I’ve always wanted to care for other people and help them feel better, and I’ve always enjoyed working with my hands.

 I grew up on the coast of Maine in Harpswell in Cundy’s Harbor and have been helping my family on our small farm and my dad on his lobster boat for as long as I can remember. When I graduated from high school I pursued a degree in culinary arts and love getting creative in the kitchen and preparing delicious food for others to enjoy.

 My path in life has had ups and downs, like most paths in life. At age 5, I was diagnosed with Stargardt’s Disease, also known as juvenile macular degeneration and have never been able to drive. My central vision is impacted, but I’ve never let this get in the way of me doing the things I love most in life.

 I became a Licensed Massage Therapist in 2019, and have since become certified in Aromatherapy and Reiki, and became a Certified Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapist. Helping others has always been a natural calling for me as I have an inner sense of compassion that feels aligned when I’m working with others to help them feel at ease in their mind, body, and spirit.

 I look forward to joining Lauren at Bluewave Holistic and getting the opportunity to work with new and existing clients.

 In my free time I enjoy spending time adventuring with my fiancée Ian. I also love being on the water and being a sternman on my Dad’s lobster boat, hauling traps and competing in hockey as a member of the US National Blind Hockey team. And lastly, I love to hike and have hiked all 67 of the 4,000+ foot mountains in New England.
